Dr Barton has undertaken Expert Witness Development workshops with the British Psychological Society and with Bond Solon. She is listed with the British Psychological Society register of Expert Witnesses. She has written more than 200 reports for Civil and Family Courts, including the Immigration Service, Care proceedings and the Criminal Injury Compensation Authority. She receives approximately 20-30 new instructions each year. Dr Barton has expertise in the areas of mental health; she has co-authored books on the subject of psychosis and hallucinations. She also has significant clinical expertise in psychological trauma and is an accredited BABCP practitioner and EMDR therapist.
